Thomas was actually home with us to celebrate! The boys and I decided to cook some new dishes instead of buying a traditional gift.
For breakfast, the boys chose "Sugar Waffles with Strawberries and Whipped Cream".
Lunch was a traditional pizza for the boys and a "Margherita Pizza with Vodka Tomato Sauce" for Thomas. The fresh mozzarella was yummy! We also had a "Taffy Apple Pizza" for dessert.
Dinner was a somewhat traditional meal with a twist thanks to Paula Deen! Let's just say, she is not your friend if you're on a diet! We had grilled Southern Style Sirloin (with gorgonzola butter and caramelized onions), roasted potatoes (with bacon and more onions), and a salad (yes, even more onions but red ones this time!) with homemade gorgonzola dressing. A dessert was in the works again but no one had room so we decided to make it another day. All in all, everything was delicious and the boys had fun helping me cook.

Gavin: (yawn)
Me: Somebody is getting sleepy (in my best sing song voice)
Gavin: No mommy, I just forgot to yawn this morning.
We've been reading Gulliver's Travels as our "family" read-aloud this week.
Brandon: Mommy, where did you get this book?
Me: From the thrift store
Brandon: (incredulous) Why would anyone want to get rid of this book?!? I love this book!
